PB role: master planning, stakeholder consultation, infrastructure planning and detailed design

The 68 ha Charlton North Industrial Estate is the first stage of the proposed 1200 ha Charlton Wellcamp Employment Area near the city of Toowoomba, on the Darling Downs west of Brisbane. The area will be developed as Toowoomba's major industrial expansion area and freight transfer facility for the inland rail network.

While the Charlton North site is within the Jondaryan Shire, both the Jondaryan Shire Council and the Toowoomba City Council were involved in the project, particularly in relation to the provision of external infrastructure, such as water and sewerage services.

PB completed a master plan for the proposed development for the Queensland Department of State Development and Innovation, lodged the development application, and completed the detailed design of all the estate infrastructure.
