PB role: feasibility study, assisted with environmental impact statement and owner’s engineer for Wesfarmers Curragh Pty Ltd. Contractor’s designer with Thiess for civil infrastructure works

For the Curragh North Coal Project, PB worked on the feasibility study, assisted in the environmental impact statement (especially in hydrology, groundwater and infrastructure) and undertook the roles of owner’s engineer with Wesfarmers Curragh Pty Ltd, and of contractor’s designer with Thiess for the civil infrastructure works.

Detailed design for the infrastructure included a 15 km haul/access road; 21 km flood protection levee; water management system, including 5 dams and over 35 km of pipelines; and mine industrial area, including an administration building, workshop and hardstand, power supply, fuel and lube facilities, heavy vehicle washdown area, truckfill point, ROM pad, and site communications infrastructure.
