Planning approval

Project approval

Final approval has been granted for the Kempsey to Eungai upgrade. The Chief Executive of the RTA determined on 24 July 2008 that the construction and operation of the Kempsey to Eungai upgrade could proceed subject to the conditions set out in the approval of the NSW Minister for Planning on 10 July 2008.

What happens next?

Preconstruction activities will commence in the Kempsey to Frederickton section of the project and will include flood modelling, preparation of the compensatory habitat offset strategy, field investigations, preliminary design and commencement of property acquisitions.

Timing for construction is dependent on funding agreements between NSW State and Federal governments.
