Origin Coal Seam Gas [CSG] and Spring Gully Origin is one of the largest coal seam gas producers in Queensland, owning and operating the Spring Gully, Strathblane and Peat gas plants in Central Queensland, with further interests in other non-operated fields. The company produces over 100 terajoules of CSG per day, supplying over 30% of Queensland’s natural gas needs. What Origin is doing with CSG Water Origin has recently completed construction of an Australian-first fully integrated Reverse Osmosis (RO) water treatment facility as part of its Spring Gully gas project. The purpose of the $20m plant is to treat and desalinate water extracted from coal seams. The Company would like to explore commercial and beneficial uses for the water within the community. This could include, but is not limited to, industrial use, agricultural projects or supplementing town water supplies. Seeking Your Ideas Interested parties are invited to submit non-binding preliminary proposals for use of the treated water. Submissions by individuals as well as groups will be considered and all proposals will be subject to Government licensing requirements. Proposals could include use of land owned by Origin in the Spring Gully area. Suggestions of use further afield should consider the costs of transport and storage as required.
